It is considered a collection of three short stories which are as a whole collected together in this novel. It's a fascinating tale and it's a fun read too.Setting: The first story that starts the book is called 'A Novella', where in America in the 1960s, the main character gets a new boyfriend. He has dreams and visions and that draws him towards the depths of a cave. This story touches us on so many levels. In addition to the trauma of love, we get to feel the sheer wonder of finding something unique that you were looking for but could not find. We have found ourselves so deep in thought, the news of his death puts us into a state of shock.The second story is called 'Entering the Catacombs'. In this story we see the abode of the lovers. There are no written poems or songs, they have all been lost. Their love and respect for each other are showcased through a flower garden that they created together. Their last moments together is recorded with photographs and artwork that capture their love, happiness and care for each other.The third story is called 'Opening the Door to Paradise'. It is the story of a man who is sent to the afterlife by the Court of Kings. He encounters another soul who he falls in love with. At first she is seen as a plague, then he falls in love with her and feels the time to tell her about his life. He is soon followed by the Goddess of Winds, who is sent to visit them both in order to help them to solve their problems and to help them know how to survive their time in the afterlife.The sixth story is called 'Alone at Last'.It is about the person that follows a secret relationship with a woman in an olden age. Her name is Edith Karr and she works as a tour guide and is carrying out the duties of one during World War II. The two of them meet each other, become friends and then one day she says goodbye to him and goes off on her own.The sev enth story is called 'Deceived of Heavenly Love'. It's about an elderly woman who likes nothing more than to lie on a pile of ashes and imagine herself being with someone else. But then one day a fire breaks out in her house and as she runs out to escape the flames she meets a man who invites her to come back to his home. They then spend time together and at the end of the story, they are reunited with the man she once loved.We can see that there are a lot of essay topics to choose from when we begin our search. We might want to pick one of the first three stories, because they are so good that they really take your breath away. Another option is to start with the sixth story and go from there, in doing so, you will come across some essays on a variety of different subjects.
